AED’s Precise™ laparoscopic instruments are comprised of 3 parts:
1. An insulated shaft
2. A jaw insert
3. A ratchet handle with a rotator cap that can be taken apart
To assemble:
1. Slide the jaw insert into the insulated shaft.
2. Hold the jaw as you thread the shaft tightly clockwise.
3. Confirm assembly by gently tugging on the jaw and the shaft. Both pieces should be secured into place.
4. Slide the rotator cap over the jaw and shaft until it reaches the opposite end.
5. Fully extend the handle by pressing down on the metal lever and allowing the handles to come apart.
6. Insert the shaft with the rotator cap into the fully extended handle. The jaw will close and the handle will lock into place.
7. Thread the rotator cap tightly clockwise.
8. Confirm assembly by opening and closing the jaw with the handle.
9. Make sure to actuate the handle and jaw prior to surgery.

To assemble:
1. Slide the jaw insert into the insulated shaft.
2. Hold the jaw as you thread the shaft tightly clockwise.
3. Confirm assembly by gently tugging on the jaw and the shaft. Both pieces should be secured into place.
4. Slide the rotator cap over the jaw and shaft until it reaches the opposite end.
5. Insert the shaft with the rotator cap into the fully extended handle. Once the jaw and handle close at the same time, the shaft is secured.
6. Thread the rotator cap tightly clockwise.
7. Confirm assembly by opening and closing the jaw with the handle.
8. Make sure to actuate the handle and jaw prior to surgery.

To disassemble:
1. Hold the rotator and turn it counterclockwise to unthread the shaft.
2. Remove the rotator cap.
3. Fully extend the handle by pressing down on the metal lever and allowing the handles to come apart. The shaft will automatically release itself from the handle.
4. Pull the shaft out.
5. Turn the jaw counterclockwise to unthread it.
6. Pull the jaw out of the shaft.

To disassemble:
1. Fist fully extend the jaw and the handle.
2. Hold the rotator cap and turn it counter-clockwise to unthread the shaft.
3. Pull the shaft out of the handle and remove the rotator cap.
4. Hold the shaft steady and turn the jaw counter-clockwise to unthread it.
5. Pull it out of the shaft.
